Lake Nona Town Center Orlando, Florida

Dix.Hite collaborated with CRTKL and Tavistock leadership on the urban design of the public realm for the commercial town center of Lake Nona, creating continuous curated garden spaces and plazas connected by canopied streets. Visitors and hotel guests can connect and unwind in the various lounge areas weaved within the sculpture and palm garden. The town center’s festival streets feature custom-colored pavers, dynamic furnishings, and seamless transitions, serving as spaces where the community can come together for special events.

Highlights of the design include an extension of the Lake Nona region’s multi-modal trail, pedestrian oriented streetscapes, large-scale native meadow plantings, the Wave Hotel, and the Performance Center. The design also looks to the future, utilizing future building envelopes as the client’s tree farm to give purpose to the interim plantings.
