Dix.Hite Recognized at AIA Orlando Awards

We're honored to share that our team was recently recognized with the 2024 AIA Consultant of the Year Award! We are honored to have been nominated by the architecture firm Little and selected by the jury. This award is a testament to our commitment to design for life and our goal to advance landscape architecture, translating connections between nature and the built environment.

Two of our project collaborations also received awards. The Medical Office Building at Lake Nona received a design award and the Marine Discovery Center, in New Smyrna Beach, won the Honor Award. Congratulations to our design partners, HuntonBrady Architects and Little for their AIA Awards and to our Clients Tavistock Development and Marine Discovery Center.

A collaboration with Little, the Marine Discovery Center master plan represents a collaborative effort between the Marine Discovery Center, the Artist’s Workshop of New Smyrna Beach and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Through the integration of green infrastructure, functional facilities, inspiring architecture, and creative landscapes, our design fosters eco-education, artistic expression, social engagement, and a deep appreciation for the protection of the Indian River Lagoon ecosystem. Our goal was to facilitate engaging experiences that connect people to Florida’s beautiful landscapes.

The Medical Office Building is situated in Lake Nona’s Town Center. As part of the Town Center's master plan, our team collaborated closely with HuntonBrady to conceptualize the building and ensure its seamless integration into the site and the broader master plan. The building is designed to engage dynamically with its surroundings through its form and visual connections. The building configurations and the spaces surrounding them will offer a tranquil retreat amid the anticipated bustle of the Town Center.

We don’t start projects with awards in mind, but acknowledgment from our peers is always gratifying. We will always remain grateful for the chance to enhance our client’s visions.

AIA Orlando’s annual Design Awards Gala is one of Florida’s most prestigious and inclusive design honors; bringing together architects, designers, and allied professionals in a celebration of exemplary design for both theoretical and built projects.
