Chris Hite
Christina Hite, FASLA, LEED AP serves as Founding Partner of Dix.Hite + Partners. As co-founder of Dix.Hite, she has been with the company since its inception in 1996 and served as CEO and president until 2023.
Chris’ design work celebrates the unique characteristics of a place’s social and geographical context, with a special focus on local ecologies, cultural identity, history, native plants, local materials, urban form, regional character, walkability, connections and quality of life. Her portfolio includes award-winning work in Celebration, Starkey Ranch, the North Cape and 7 Islands Vision plan for Cape Coral, FL, Oviedo on the Park in Oviedo, FL, Waterlin, and Hoakalei, a master-planned community in Hawaii.
A leader in her industry, Chris has been recognized in news outlets such as the Orlando Business Journal, i4 Business Magazine, Authority Magazine, and CBS Radio.
Chris is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architecture’s 2021 class of Fellows, a prestigious recognition of her extraordinary landscape architecture career.
An active member of the Landscape Architecture community, Hite has always strived to advance the practice of landscape architecture by volunteering on boards and advisory councils to share her professional experience and knowledge with young professionals, students, community leaders, developers, and designers. She is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Congress for the new Urbanism, , serves on the Advisory Council for both of her alma maters; the University of Georgia College of the Environmental and Design and the University of Florida College of Design, Construction, and Planning, and is the President of the Outside Collaborative, a non-profit working across the chain of custody to create a sustainable future for Florida's landscapes.
Chris lives in the urban core of Winter Park and is frequently seen walking with her husband Javier and their dog, Rioja when she’s not chasing surf on Florida’s east coast.
